Lead-Free Plumbing Fittings: New NZ Building Code Requirements

From 2 May 2026, all new taps, mixers, and plumbing fittings installed in contact with drinking water must be lead-free (max 0.25% lead content). This is a change to the NZ Building Code (G12/AS1 Amendment 14). If you’re renovating, all new fittings we install are lead-free certified. Read more about the lead-free changes here.
